Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D-Plainview) joined the Plainview-Old Berthage school community on February 10 for their Board of Education Student Recognition Ceremony.

During the ceremony, he presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to the members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK girls’ varsity volleyball team, who completed a 17–0 season and earned the program’s first-ever AAA Long Island Championship and a second consecutive county title.

“Seeing so many talented and accomplished students from the guidance, English, art, music, mathematics and business departments being recognized for their achievements fills me with tremendous optimism for our future,” Drucker said.

“As a lifelong Plainview resident, a graduate of this district, and a father whose children’s lives were enriched tremendously by their experiences in these schools, it was especially gratifying to honor the girls’ volleyball team for their historic run,” Drucker added. “Congratulations to everyone — keep making us proud!”
