West Hempstead Woman Arrested for Bias Incident

A West Hempstead woman was arrested for a bias incident that occurred in Cedarhurst.

On August 3 at 3:40 p.m., Tanisha Williams, 52, of 412 Scaneateles Avenue, was riding a bicycle eastbound on Central Avenue and allegedly yelling anti-Semitic remarks. She then stopped near the corner of Prospect Avenue and allegedly ripped down an Israeli flag, which was hanging from a sign, and fled eastbound. Nassau County officers from the Fourth Precinct located the defendant on  Franklin Place and placed her under arrest without incident.

Police charged Williams with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Petit Larceny. She was scheduled to be arraigned on August 4 at First District Court in Hempstead.
