
A West Hempstead man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a rideshare driver.
On June 30 at 12:58 am., the male victim, 22, was working as an Uber driver and picked up three men in Hempstead. The men requested transportation to 28 Morton Avenue in West Hempstead. Upon arrival, there was a dispute over the fare and one of the passengers grabbed the driver by the shirt, demanding he return it. The subject threatened the victim with a closed fist before he complied.
After a thorough investigation, police arrested Roberto Loo Kung, 36, of 28 Morton Avenue.
Police charged Kung with third-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 30 at First District Court in Hempstead.
