
Suffolk County Police arrested a West Babylon man for allegedly seriously injuring an acquaintance during an assault in North Amityville this afternoon.
Angelo Andrade was at the home of an acquaintance, located at 187 Jefferson Ave., when he allegedly slashed the man’s neck with a knife. Andrade also allegedly threatened another resident with the knife before fleeing the home. The 45-year-old victim was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Andrade, 49, of 544 18th Street, was arrested a short time later and charged with Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on September 22.
