A woman in Uniondale has been arrested for assaulting another woman.Armanda Valles, 30, got into a verbal argument outside her residence with a 19-year-old girl on June 12th. Valles struck the victim in the legs with brass knuckles. Upon her attempt to escape, Valles took out a knife, slashed the 19-year-old in the leg below the knee, and then fled the scene on foot. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Valles was found near the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Front Street, and police placed her under arrest. She was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The arraignment is set to take place June 13th, in the First District Court in Hempstead.
