A Uniondale man was arrested for allegedly renting out a property he did not own.
In November 2024, a male subject, Gerson Robles, 39, received a $5,000 security deposit to secure a rental property. The male victim, 48, signed a lease agreement and tried to move in when he found that it was already inhabited. It was determined that Robles did not legally own the property or the authority to rent.
A thorough investigation was conducted, and Robles, of 1079 Midland Street, was arrested without incident.
Robles was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and was arraigned on April 8 at First District Court.
Officers are asking anyone who feels they may have been the victim of a similar incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
