Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured two teenage boys in Brentwood.
Three young men were inside a parked vehicle on Madison Avenue, near Hewes Street, on January 19 when a second vehicle with at least three men inside pulled up in front of them at approximately 7 p.m. One of the males in the second vehicle exited the car and began shooting at the first vehicle, striking a 15-year-old in the hand and a 17-year-old in the leg.
The first vehicle accelerated in reverse and fled the scene. The second vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction. The first vehicle drove approximately two miles to a Bay Shore street, and police were called shortly after.
The two injured teens were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Long Island Life & Politics reached out to the SCPD for more information and asked if the shooting may be gang-related. A SCPD spokesperson said this incident is under investigation and “we don’t have anything further.”
