
Two male students were arrested for an incident involving a gun in Franklin Square.
On April 2, at approximately 8:25 a.m., Nassau County officers arrived at Valley Stream North High School, located at 750 Herman Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers found that two male students, ages 14 and 17, were allegedly in possession of what appeared to be a BB gun. Further investigation determined that the 17-year-old had allegedly pointed the weapon at two students. Both students were then put into custody without incident.
The 14-year-old was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled back in court on April 16.
The 17-year-old was charged with the following:
- Menacing in the Second Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.
