Two men from Roosevelt have been arrested for stealing a vehicle outside a Baldwin restaurant.
On January 22 at 9:47 p.m., the male victim, 60, left his 2015 Toyota Rav4 running and entered Kentucky Fried Chicken located at 1221 Grand Avenue. When the man returned, he realized it was stolen and called 911. Quickly afterward, Officers from the Freeport Police Department found the vehicle going west on E. Seaman Avenue near N. Columbus Avenue in Freeport. The officers put on their emergency lights and operated a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. The male passenger got out of the car and ran away on foot but was apprehended nearby and put in custody. The driver stayed at the scene and was arrested without incident.
Joseph Felton, 32, of 21 E. Clinton Avenue is charged with Grand Larceny in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree. Patrick Knight, 34, of 100 Willets Place, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree.
Both men will be arraigned on January 23 at First District Court in Hempstead.
