
Two Queens men were arrested for allegedly attempting to steal notebooks from a Garden City store.
On August 18 at 4:51 p.m., Manny A. Alvarez Marriaga, 24, of 10521 63rd Drive and Kevin A. Alvarez, 25, of 148-45 89th Avenue, allegedly impersonated a Nassau County employee and used a fraudulent account in an attempt to place a purchase order of 22 Hewlett Packard laptops valued at $43,978 from Ray-Block, a Nassau County vendor for office supplies. After an investigation by Nassau County detectives, both men were located in Garden City and placed into custody.
Alvarez Marriaga and Alvarez are both charged with Attempted Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.
The men are scheduled to be arraigned on August 19 at First District Court, Hempstead.
