Two Louisiana Men Arrested for Weapons Possession

Two men from Louisiana have been arrested for criminal possession of a weapon in Westbury.

On October 3 at 8:05 p.m., Nassau County officers assigned to the Strategic Response Team (SRT) observed a black 2009 Ford Edge traveling eastbound on Zeckendorf Blvd., when the driver failed to signal a lane change in the vicinity of Corporate Drive.  Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.

During the investigation, a loaded handgun was recovered. Andrew Robinson, 38, of 3204 Virginia Street, Monroe and Donyea Walker, 30, of 4601 Lincoln Park, Monroe were arrested.

Robinson, who was driving the car, and Walker were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. They were scheduled to be arraigned on October 4 at First District Court in Hempstead.
