Three male suspects, two of whom are juveniles, were arrested for stealing money from a cab driver in West Hempstead.
On January 31 at 9 p.m., a taxi operated by a 21-year-old male victim was transporting three males near the vicinity of June Place and Theresa Avenue. When they got to their location, they allegedly got into a physical altercation with the driver and allegedly took money from the center console of the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Chance Richardson, 19 of 21 Sunset Road, Valley Stream and two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were located a short time later and placed under arrest without incident. (Due to the ages of the two juveniles, their names cannot be disclosed.)
All three defendants are charged with second-degree robbery. Richardson was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child and will be arraigned on February 1 at First District Court in Hempstead. The two juveniles were also scheduled to be arraigned the same day in the Youth Section of First District Court.
