Also Has Outstanding Warrant for Removal Pending
A South Hempstead man who also has an outstanding Warrant for Removal pending was arrested for resisting arrest as police tried to break up a domestic disturbance.
On April 7 at 1:50 a.m., Nassau County officers from the First precinct responded to a Long Beach Road residence for a domestic disturbance. During the investigation, Diego Hernandez Duran, allegedly interfered with the officers and swatted one of their hands away when police gave him a verbal directive. When officers were placing him into custody, Duran allegedly pushed both officers and was able to escape. The officers recaptured Duran and placed him into custody without further incident.
Duran, 27, is charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. He was issued appearance tickets.
Further investigation revealed Duran has an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has been placed into their custody.
