Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for allegedly robbing three businesses this week, all while displaying what appeared to be a handgun.
Nehemiah Byers was arrested on Broadway in Amityville by First Precinct Anti-Crime officers on January 27 at 9:48 p.m., shortly after he had allegedly robbed a Farmingdale business.
Following an investigation by First Squad detectives, Byers, 24, of Amityville, was charged with three counts of Robbery in the First Degree for robbing the following businesses:
- QuickChek, located at 1147 Sunrise Highway in Copiague, on January 25 at 9:05 p.m.
- Sunrise Variety, located at 215 Sunrise Highway in Amityville, on January 27 at 6:47 p.m.
- BP, located at 1100 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale, on January 27 at 9:40 p.m.
Byers fled each robbery after allegedly taking money from the cash registers. He is also being charged with Resisting Arrest and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Byers was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
