Roosevelt Man Arrested for Assault, Resisting Arrest

A Roosevelt man has been arrested for assault and resisting arrest.

On October 3 at 2:53 p.m., Nassau County officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a Brookside Avenue residence. While officers were conducting an investigation at the scene, Shabaz Hall, 32, allegedly became irate, picked up a metallic object and raised it towards officers in a threatening manner. When officers attempted to place Hall into custody, he allegedly became combative and resisted arrest, causing two officers to sustain injuries. Both officers were treated for their injuries at an area hospital.

Police charged Hall with two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on October 4 at First District Court in Hempstead.
