
Suffolk County police arrested a woman for allegedly setting a Ronkonkoma home on fire last month.
Ashley Richard allegedly intentionally set her residence, located at 255 Avenue C, on fire on September 12 at approximately 6:20 p.m. Three children, ages 6, 9, and 13, were in the home at the time of the fire and told to evacuate by Richard through a first-floor window. Richard also left the residence and no injuries were reported.
Following an investigation by Arson Section detectives, Richard was arrested on October 8 at approximately 12:35 p.m.
Richard, 26, was charged with Arson in the Second Degree, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was held overnight and scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 9.
