
Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying the man who allegedly stole a replica pistol from a museum in Old Bethpage.
The Museum of American Armor, located at 1303 Round Swamp Road, was open to the public on June 6 when a male walked inside at 12:50 p.m. and allegedly took out a replica Colt 1911A1 non-functioning pistol from a mannequin’s holster. He then allegedly placed it into his short pocket. He then walked out of the front of the building and fled in an unknown direction.
The investigation is ongoing.
The subject is described as a white male, in his 60s, approximately 5’10’’ tall and heavyset. He has grey hair and a grey mustache. He was last seen wearing a green baseball cap with a rifle on it, grey polo shirt with an emblem on the left chest and brown canvas shorts.
