Queens Woman Arrested for Vandalizing Statue

A Queens woman was arrested for an incident that occurred in Mineola. 

On March 22 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers arrested Allyson Fairbanks, 60, of 135-25 Hoover Avenue, after she allegedly threw a red colored liquid on the statue of former President of the United States and Nassau County resident Theodore Roosevelt during a peaceful Pro-Palestinian protest. The protest took place at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building located at 1550 Franklin Avenue. Fairbanks caused about $2,000 worth of damage before allegedly fleeing the scene.

After an investigation, Nassau County officers found Fairbanks and arrested her without incident.

Fairbanks was charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and making graffiti. She will be arraigned on March 25 at First District Court.
