Queens Man Arrested for Shoplifting from North Lawrence Store

Defendant Violated No-Trespassing Order, Had Outstanding Bench Warrant

A Queens man who violated a no-trespassing order and had an outstanding bench warrant was arrested for shoplifting from a store in North Lawrence.

On April 4 at 12:10 p.m., Refugio De La Cruz, 44, of 154-71 Brookville Boulevard, Rosedale, entered Target located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike.  De La Cruz allegedly hid merchandise inside his jacket and proceeded to leave the store without paying. After a thorough investigation, officers located De La Cruz and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Police charged De La Cruz with petit larceny and third-degree burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned on April 5 at First District Court in Hempstead.  Further investigation revealed the defendant violated a no-trespassing order and has an active Nassau County Bench Warrant.
