Defendant Subject to Removal by ICE
Nassau County police arrested a Queens man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 3:30 pm in Great Neck.
On November 25, 2025 at 3:30 p.m., Pitu Munteanu, 26, of Fresh Meadows, entered Phigora Luxury Watches, located at 10 Grace Avenue and allegedly placed a Rolex Cosmograph in his jacket pocket, then left the store without paying for it.
After a thorough investigation, on January 22, 2026, Major Case Squad and Electronic Squad detectives located Munteanu in Brooklyn and placed him under arrest without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, the watch was recovered from inside the defendant’s home.
Police charged Munteanu with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree. He was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court on February 10, 2026.
Further investigation revealed Munteanu is illegally in the United States and is subject to removal proceedings. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents (ICE) took custody of the defendant.
