
A Pennsylvania man who was sought for removal by federal immigration officials was arrested for a Petit Larceny at an Elmont store.
On May 25 at 2:06 p.m., officers responded to the Target at 1730 Hempstead Turnpike for a shoplifting incident that had just occurred. After an investigation, police located Jose Asto Jacome, 27, of 1412 Derry Street, Harrisburg nearby and placed him under arrest without incident. Further investigation revealed that Asto Jacome had an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Police charged Asto Jacome with Petit Larceny. He was issued an Appearance Ticket and taken into custody by ICE.
