A Queens man and a Hempstead woman have been arrested for selling merchandise from a store in North New Hyde Park.
On February 22 at 3:14 p.m., Amar Williams, 35, of 20940 45th Road, Bayside, and Jasmine Addison, 31, of 134 Yale Street, entered Victoria’s Secret, located at 1450 Union Turnpike. They took assorted merchandise, then proceeded to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without paying for them. Nassau County Third Squad detectives located the defendants nearby and placed them under arrest.
Williams became violent and combative while being placed under arrest, causing a detective to sustain a laceration to her hand and injury to her knee. She was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Addison was charged with petit larceny. Williams was charged with second-degree assault, petit larceny and resisting arrest. They were scheduled to be arraigned on February 23 at First District Court in Hempstead. After the investigation, it was determined that both defendants had open bench warrants from New York City.
