Pair Arrested for Stealing Lingerie from Oceanside Store

One Had Outstanding Warrant of Removal

Two Queens women were arrested for stealing more than $1,500 in lingerie from an Oceanside store two months ago. One of the suspects had an outstanding warrant of removal.

On January 4, at 1:00 p.m., two unknown women entered Victoria’s Secret, located at 3527 Long Beach Road. The subjects concealed merchandise valued at $1,551 inside a shopping bag. The woman proceeded to exit the store without rendering payment. One of the women had a small infant against her body in a carrier. The woman fled the scene in a Honda Civic.

Domenica Rivera Mendieta, 25, and Katherine Cabrera Tapia, 27, of 161-02 118th Street, were arrested on March 27. Mendieta and Tapia were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Tapia was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. They were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on April 11 to First District Court in Hempstead.

Further investigation revealed Mendieta has an outstanding Warrant of Removal pending with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has been placed into their custody.
