Pair Arrested for Inwood Robbery

Two men have been arrested for a robbery that occurred in Inwood.

On March 14 at 2:30 a.m., two males entered Sunoco, located at 471 Sheridan Boulevard. While inside, one of the males displayed a firearm and ordered an employee to open the cash register. Both males then fled from the scene in a Ford Fusion with cashy and various other items.

Officers observed and attempted to stop the vehicle, which struck a curb and became disabled on Ocean Parkway. Both defendants were placed under arrest and transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A firearm was recovered inside the vehicle. Further investigation indicated that the vehicle was reported stolen.

Both defendants, who have at this time refused to identify themselves, are charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. They are set to be arraigned on March 15 at First District Court in Hempstead.
