
Two juveniles were arrested for allegedly spray painting a building in Roosevelt.
On September 10 at 9:59 p.m., Nassau County officers from the Fifth Squad observed two suspects wearing masks, allegedly spray painting a building in the vicinity of Mirin Avenue and Park Avenue. Officers approached the suspects, who then fled on foot. Both suspects — a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male — were apprehended nearby and they both resisted arrest, causing one officer to sustain injuries. They were then taken into custody without any further incident.
The injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The 16-year-old male was also found to be in possession of a knife and fake identification.
Police charged the 16-year-old with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Possession of Graffiti Instruments and violating the Title 90 Mask Transparency Act. He was scheduled to be arraigned on September 11 at Family Court.
The 17-year old was charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Possession of Graffiti Instruments and violating the Title 90 Mask Transparency Act. He was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable to Family Court.
