
A Connecticut man has been arrested for allegedly embezzling from a Great Neck Plaza dental practice during a four-year period.
According to Nassau County Electronics Squad Fraud and Forgery Unit detectives, Jeffrey Fernandez, 34, of 7 Seir Hi Road, Norwalk, Connecticut, was working as an office manager for a Great Neck Plaza dentist’s office. An investigation revealed that, January 2020 and July 2024, Fernandez allegedly embezzled approximately $286,000 from the practice by allegedly changing the business routing account number from the dentist’s office to his own personal bank account. The defendant was arrested without incident on May 28 at 6:00 a.m.
Police charged Fernandez with two counts of second-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned on May 28 at First District Court in Hempstead.
