Nassau County Fourth Squad police arrested an Oceanside man for robbing a local gas station. Robbery that occurred in Oceanside.
On October 10 at 4:10 p.m., Edward Miles entered the Speedway Gas Station, located at 2650 Long Beach Road in Oceanside. Once inside, he removed beer from the refrigerators and approached the male employee, 44, standing behind the register. Miles selected two packs of cigarettes that were behind the counter and placed his hand inside his sweatshirt, stating he had a gun. He then fled the scene with the beer and cigarettes.
A short time later after a thorough investigation, Miles was located at his residence 65 Merle Avenue and placed under arrest without further incident.
Miles, 55, is charged with first-degree robbery. He was scheduled to be arraigned on October 11 at First District Court in Hempstead.
