North Amityville Man Indicted for Allegedly Selling Cocaine, Illegal Guns

A North Amityville man was indicted for allegedly selling illegal handguns and cocaine to an undercover police officer.  

Between March 2025 and May 2025, Nicholas Greaves allegedly made the illegal drug sales on six separate occasions. On each of the separate six occurrences, an undercover officer contacted Greaves and arranged for the sale of cocaine. On each date, Greaves allegedly instructed the undercover to meet him at a location in Central Islip or Bay Shore. After the officer arrived, Greaves allegedly sold the officer a quantity of cocaine. In April 2025, the undercover officer inquired about purchasing a handgun. 

Between April 2025 and May 2025, on three of the six separate occasions, Greaves allegedly sold the undercover three loaded and operable handguns, a SCCY CPX-2 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a Taurus PT 111 G2 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a large-capacity ammunition feeding device, and a defaced Taurus G2S 9mm semi-automatic handgun.  

On February 13, 2026, Greaves, 31, was arraigned on the indictment before Acting Supreme Court  Justice Anthony S. Senft, Jr., for the following charges:  

  • one count of Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the First Degree, a Class B felony ∙ four counts of Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the Third Degree, all Class D felonies
  • three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, all Class C felonies
  • two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, both Class D felonies
  • six counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B felonies
  • six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B  felonies

Senft ordered Greaves held on $200,000 cash, $400,000 bond or $2,000,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case. Greaves is due back in court on March 11, 2026, and faces 5 to 25 years in prison if convicted on the top count.
