New Cassel Man Arrested for Menacing, Gun Possession

A New Cassel man has been arrested for menacing and gun possession following a dispute.

On January 5 at 11:30 a.m., Nassau County Third Precinct officers responded to a New Cassel residence for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Talique Thomas, 23, of 30A 3rd Avenue, was involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 21. The argument escalated and Thomas pointed a loaded black firearm at the victim. The victim immediately left the residence and contacted police.

Upon arrival, police located Thomas and placed him under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.

Thomas was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned on January 6 in First District Court in Hempstead.
