Minister from Brooklyn Arrested for Sex with Underage Girl

(Photo Courtesy of NCPD) Reginald Chery of Brooklyn was arrested for allegedly having multiple sexual encounters with an underage girl.

A Brooklyn man has been arrested for multiple sexual encounters that occurred between January 15, 2014 and August 15, 2016 in Nassau County.

According to Nassau County detectives from the Special Victims Squad, Reginald Chery, 46, of 8612 Avenue M, allegedly had sexual relations with an underage girl. Chery is currently employed as a minister at the South Bronx Seven Day Adventist Church and as a chaplain by the St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockway.

Chery was located at his residence and was arrested without incident on May 21. He was charged with first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. He was scheduled to be arraigned on May 21 at First District Court in Hempstead.
