Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who injured a woman during a burglary in East Hampton this month.
A man entered a home on Old Stone Highway in East Hampton on August 19 at 4:40 p.m. During the burglary, he grabbed an elderly resident around the neck and pushed her to the ground. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect stole cash and fled. He was last seen at a market on Springs Fireplace Road. He was wearing a medical mask under his chin and a backpack with an Adidas symbol. Investigators believe he was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt during the burglary and carrying it following the incident.
