Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man that occurred during a fight in Bellport.
Fifth Precinct officers responded to a report of a fight in front of 517 Taylor Ave. on May 18 at 2:45 a.m. Before the police arrived, Carlos Bonaparte, who had been struck in the head with an unknown object during the fight, was transported by private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue.
Bonaparte, 44, of Bellport, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
