Was Also Charged with Starting a Fire at Warming Center
A Uniondale man was arrested for stealing items from a gas station in Uniondale and assaulting an employee.
On January 31 at 1:54 a.m., Christian M. Hall walked into the Sunoco Gas Station, located at 1220 Hempstead Turnpike. While inside, he tried to purchase a drink and two packs of cigarettes, but his credit/debit card was declined. He took the drink without paying for it and attempted to leave, but was stopped by a 65-year-old male employee.
Hall allegedly got into a physical altercation with the employee and punched him in the face and chest before pushing him to the ground and kicking him. He then allegedly took the two packs of cigarettes he attempted to purchase and fled the scene southbound on Cunningham Avenue. Police medics responded at the scene and tended to the victim.
On February 1 at 11:20 p.m., Hall, 33, of 93 Walton Avenue, was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault, second-degree burglary and petit larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned on February 2 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Hall was also arrested for another incident in which he set a fire inside the men’s bathroom of a Uniondale warming center. He was charged with second-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief.
