A Queens man has recently been arrested for a burglary in Valley Stream.
On July 23 at 7:01 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call for a man inside of Macy’s, located at 1000 Green Acres Mall, prior to business hours. Ramel Payne, 19, was observed forcibly opening multiple registers in the store and removing the contents. He exited the building using a fire exit and was arrested.
It was determined Payne was responsible for six additional burglaries at the same location.
Payne is charged with seven counts of third-degree burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned on July 24 at First District Court, Hempstead.
