A Mount Vernon man was arrested for a robbery that happened in a Garden City store.
On March 29 at 6:05 p.m., officers responded to Nordstrom Rack, located at 1040 Old Country Road for a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers were informed by Loss Prevention Agents that Darrell Walker, 43, of 110 Union Avenue, had selected and concealed various items before passing all points of purchase and exiting the store without rendering payment. When Loss Prevention Agents approached Walker, a brief struggle ensued. Officers placed him into custody without further incident.
All of the store’s merchandise was recovered. No injuries were reported.
Police charged Walker with third-degree robbery and petit larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned on March 305 at First District Court in Hempstead.
