Suffolk County Police have made an arrest in connection with a disturbing incident involving indecent exposure that occurred earlier this week. The suspect, identified as Jacob Levy, 27, of Nesconset, was apprehended by Fourth Squad detectives for his alarming behavior on a busy street.
The incident took place on April 22 at approximately 3 p.m., when Levy, driving a sky blue 2020 Honda Civic with black rims, was spotted by a mother and her 6-year-old daughter. While stopped at the intersection of Gibbs Pond Road and Route 347, heading westbound, Levy, who was naked from the waist down, began masturbating in full view of the woman and her child in the neighboring vehicle.
The mother confronted Levy, recorded his license plate number, and immediately contacted the police. Levy then fled the scene, heading northbound on Southern Boulevard.
Following a swift investigation, Levy was arrested on April 24 at 4:58 p.m. He faces charges including Public Lewdness 1st Degree, Public Lewdness, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Levy was held overnight and scheduled for arraignment at the First District Court in Central Islip on April 25.
In light of this incident, detectives are reaching out to the public for further information and are urging anyone who may have been a victim of Levy, or has additional information about this case, to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8451. This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the Suffolk County Police Department to address and curb such unacceptable behavior in the community.
