Man Arrested for Central Islip Murder

Suffolk County officers are investigating the death of a man who was fatally shot in Central Islip when a passenger in the car, Jeremias Anariba-Moran, shot him, then ran from the scene.

On March 15 at approximately 11:52 p.m., Gustavo Godinez-Carcamo, 40, of Central Islip, sat in a parked vehicle in the driveway of his home, located at 10 Anne Lane, when a passenger in the car shot him. The suspect ran from the scene.

Godinez-Carcamo was brought to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

On March 18, Suffolk County police arrested Anariba-Moran, 47, of 338 Oakland Avenue, Central Islip, and charged him with murder in the second degree. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct in Bay Shore and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 19.
