
A Long Beach man has been arrested for a robbery at a Valley Stream gas station.
On October 18 at 3:35 p.m., Austin Harthman, 34, of 124 Pacific Boulevard entered Valero Gas Station, located at 758 Franklin Avenue. He allegedly began causing a disturbance and allegedly brandished a knife, demanding a lighter. The victim, 25, in fear for his safety, complied and Harthman allegedly exited the location without paying for the lighter.
When police arrived, Harthman was found and placed under arrest without incident. He was charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He was scheduled to be arraigned on October 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
