Locust Valley Woman Arrested for Assault

A Locust Valley woman has been arrested for assault after biting a nurse and police officer and breaking a neighbor’s screen door.

According to Nassau County Second Squad detectives, officers responded to a Locust Valley residence on December 9 at 6:21 p.m. for a disturbance between neighbors regarding their mail. The argument escalated and Tiara Gooden, 34, grabbed the screen door of the house of the female victim, 21, and slammed it, causing the lock to break. The victim called 911 and police responded, placing Gooden into custody.

Gooden requested medical attention and was transported to a local area hospital. While a nurse was tending to Gooden, the defendant became combative and began to yell and scream. Gooden scratched the nurse’s left hand and proceeded to bite an officer on his right hand. The injuries to the nurse and the officer resulted in pain and swelling.

Gooden was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief. She was scheduled to be arraigned on December 10 at First District Court in Hempstead.
