Levittown Man Arrested for Threats, Assault

A Levittown man was arrested for allegedly threatening another person and assaulting a police officer.

On April 21 at 11:40 a.m, Nassau County Eighth Squad officers responded to a disturbance at a residence located on Wolcott Road for a man who was allegedly verbally threatening himself and others. Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and determined that Nicholas Wennick, 32 of 96 Wolcott Road in Levittown, needed to be transported to a nearby hospital for an evaluation.

Officers escorted Wennick to the ambulance, where he became verbally and physically aggressive. As officers attempted to place Wennick under arrest, he became violent and combative during the course of the arrest, injuring one officer.

Wennick was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a nearby hospital for assessment. The injured officer sustained non-life threating injuries and was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police charged Wennick with second-degree assault, third-degree menacing and second-degree obstructing government administration. He will be arraigned once he is released from the hospital.
