Lakeview Man Arrested for Alleged Attempted Murder

A Lakeview man was arrested for attempted murder in Franklin Square.

On July 6 at 4:31 a.m., Nassau County police responded to a Franklin Street residence for a 20-year-old male victim who sustained multiple lacerations to several parts of his body. The victim was involved in an earlier auto accident when an unknown suspect followed him and a physical altercation occurred. The victim was stabbed multiple times with an unknown sharp object. He was transported to a local area hospital for further treatment and evaluation where he is currently listed in stable condition.

After a thorough investigation, detectives identified and located Rashawn Marquez, 34, of 542 Eagle Avenue. He was placed under arrest without further incident.

Police charged Marquez with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
