Juvenile, South Farmingdale Man Arrested for Vandalizing Beach Area

An unidentified youth and a South Farmingdale man were arrested for vandalizing structures at Tobay Beach in Massapequa.

On February 22 at 3:40 p.m., Nassau County Seventh Squad officers responded to Tobay Beach, located at 1 Ocean Parkway, for damages done to the Boatyard Restaurant, men and women’s bathrooms, concession stand, Surf Shack restaurant, west bathhouse, and the 9/11 Memorial Wall. These locations within Tobay Beach had been spray painted, causing approximately $3,500 in damage. After a thorough investigation, a male juvenile and Tayyab Muhammad, 20, of 55 Juniper Street, were arrested on February 23 without incident.

Muhammad and the juvenile were charged with second-degree criminal mischief  and making graffiti. Muhammad and the juvenile were both arraigned on February 24. Muhammad was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead, and the juvenile was arraigned at the Youth Section of First District Court in Hempstead.
