An Island Park woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another person in front of a Carle Place store.
According to Nassau County detectives from the Third Squad, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 285 Old Country Road on July 24 at 5:25 p.m. for a report of a male bleeding. When they arrived, they found a 56-year-old male victim who had been stabbed in the arm and back. The defendant, Courtney Tolbert, 37, was placed under arrest at the scene without incident.
The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. A knife was recovered at the scene.
Police charged Tolbert with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. She is scheduled to be arraigned on July 25 at First District Court in Hempstead.
