An Inwood man was arrested for grand larceny that occurred in Woodmere.
According to Detectives, Fourth Precinct officers received a 911 call for a larceny from an automobile on Oxford Road in Cedarhurst. On September 2 at 2:45 a.m., officers located two individuals on Barnard Avenue and Emmerson Street: Shamel Deondre Medley, 20, of 385 Bayview Ave, Apt. 4C, and a male juvenile. Medley was in possession of proceeds he allegedly stole from an automobile. He was placed under arrest and also charged for a larceny of an automobile that occurred on August 31 at 11:00 a.m. on Jefferson Street in Woodmere, and another larceny from auto that occurred on August 30, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. on Court Avenue in Cedarhurst. The juvenile male was also arrested for the August 30 larceny from an automobile. He was recognized from video surveillance footage of that incident.
Police charged Medley with third-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and third-degree identity theft. The juvenile defendant is charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. They were arraigned on September 3 at First District Court in Hempstead.
