Immigrant Arrested Twice in One Week for Child Pornography

An Ecuadoran immigrant was arrested twice in one week for child pornography.

On October 23, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NYSP BCI) arrested Juan Pablo Chuqimarca Guzman on three counts of possession of child pornography. Guzman was released on appearance tickets and was due back in court November 18th on Shelter Island.

After the initial arrest of Guzman, a forensic investigation was initiated on his electronic device. This led to a search warrant being executed at his residence. Guzman, who is an illegal immigrant from Ecuador and lived with a two-year-old, was found to have over 4,000 videos of child pornography on his devices.

Guzman was arraigned October 31 at the Shelter Island Justice Court on six counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child (a Class D Felony) and held on $1 million cash bail, $2 million  bond, $3 million partially secured bond and was required to surrender his passport to the court. Guzman was then transported to the Suffolk County Jail in Yaphank.
