An undomiciled woman was arrested for resisting arrest after assaulting a Nassau County police officer.   for an Assault that occurred on Tuesday,

December 3, 2024 at 1:25 a.m. in Elmont, Latoya Dancy, 49, was arrested for an outstanding Nassau County warrant for a prior grand larceny and resisting arrest. One officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest when Dancy became violent and combative while resisting arrest. The officer was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Dancy was charged with second-degree assault, in addition to the warrant charges of grand larceny, and resisting arrest. She was arraigned on December 3 at First District Court in Hempstead.
