
A homeless man has been arrested for assault in Uniondale.
On September 6 at 12:45 p..m, Ronaldo Tomlinson, 23, approached a male victim, 31, in Uniondale Park, located at 710 Uniondale Avenue and an argument ensued. The argument escalated and Tomlinson allegedly punched the victim in the face. During the altercation, while the victim attempted to defend himself, Tomlinson allegedly took out a small box cutter knife and stabbed the victim, causing two small punctures in his back and a slash wound near his right ear.
The victim then left the park and Tomlinson allegedly followed him while still holding the knife. Upon police arrival, officers located both the victim and the defendant in front of 560 Uniondale Avenue. Tomlison was placed under arrest without further incident and transported to a local area hospital for evaluation.
The victim was also transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Tomlison is charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned on September 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
