Homeless Man Arrested for Alleged Attempted Robbery

An undomiciled Hicksville man was arrested for allegedly trying to rob a man.

On April 6 at 3:30 a.m., a 54-year-old male victim was walking southbound on Broadway towards the parking lot of Guru Nanak Darbar of Long Island, located at 11 South Broadway. As the victim turned the corner, Malkit Singh Gill allegedly approached him and said, “Give me everything you have!” while holding a red brick in his hand. The victim pushed Singh Gill, 52, and ran from the scene to his home.

Two hours later, the victim again attempted to visit Guru Nanak Darbar of Long Island and Singh Gill was allegedly still there. The victim called 911 and the defendant was placed under arrest without further incident.

Singh Gill is charged with third-degree attempted robbery and second-degree menacing. He will be arraigned on April 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
