Suffolk County Police arrested a Wyandanch-based home health aide who allegedly stole money from her patient last year.
A 72-year-old Wyandanch woman reported to police on August 11 that an unknown person had allegedly used a debit card to access her bank account and withdrew approximately $1,100. Following an investigation by Suffolk County Financial Crimes Unit detectives, it was determined Ceceily Williams, a private home health aide hired by the victim, had allegedly taken the victim’s ATM card out of her wallet to make the withdrawal and then used the money to make private purchases.
Williams, 36, was arrested at the First Precinct at 2:55 p.m. on January 20. She was charged with Identity Theft in the Second Degree and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. She was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on February 9.
