A Hempstead man was arrested during a traffic stop after police found a gun and ammunition in his car.
According to detectives, Nassau County First Precinct officers observed a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound on Nassau Road in Uniondale with defective headlights on September 12 at 2:20 a.m. Officers conducted a New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law Stop in front of 930 Nassau Road.
After a thorough investigation, an RF-15 pistol, two loaded ammunition magazines and two unloaded ammunition magazines were recovered from the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, Jarrad Wall, 33, of 10 Harold Avenue, was placed into police custody without incident.
Wall was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition feeding devices and multiple traffic infractions. He was arraigned on September 12 at First District Court in Hempstead.
